City Of Animals
When an uninvited furry guest takes up residence above her house, Finnie Fleck sets out to discover the real reason for all the animals moving into the city.
Together, they set out against all odds to save their home. With plenty of subversive wit in both text and illustration, the story shows what can be achieved with dedication, solidarity, and ingenuity.
PageS: Previews & PROCESS

While layouting my text, I draw multiple small thumbnails. Then one of those is chosen for my detailed page-sketch.
I map out the poses and expressions that most closely resemble my vision for the scene, before committing to precise black outlines.
I keep my shape language soft and rounded, and try to use hard edges only for contrast.
Then I choose a palette and colour the line art. This stage is most important for delicate details.
I often draw over the black outlines with darker versions of the used colours, to soften the shapes and make the black texts pop.
